The Secret to a Thriving Garden (and Business)

Every morning, I start the same way. I look in the mirror, take a deep breath, and declare with conviction, “I am a gardener.”

It’s a ritual now. After my declaration, I make my way to the kitchen, where a box of tiny biodegradable seed planters sits on the counter. Even before I turn on the coffee pot, I give them water, whisper words of encouragement, and plead for them to sprout. Yes, I’m that person.

Seven weeks. That’s how long I’ve been at this. Seven weeks of watering, waiting, and hoping. According to the seed packets, I should have seen little green shoots by now. But the planters remain stubbornly lifeless.

Despite my best efforts, my commitment, my resources, my determination — I can’t make them grow.

Still, I refuse to give up on my dream of a summer garden. I can already see it in my mind: the vibrant reds of ripe tomatoes, the sweet burst of berries shared with neighbors, the satisfying crunch of a cucumber plucked fresh off the vine. It’s a vision I’m not willing to let go of.

But here’s the thing about dreams: sometimes, they need a little help.

I have a choice. I could keep doing what I’m doing, watering, waiting, and hoping, or I could take a different path. I could drive to the local nursery, share my vision and my budget, and let the experts guide me. They’d help me pick out mature plants, show me how to plant them, and set me up for success.

The result? The outcome will be the same. I’ll still have a garden bursting with fresh fruits and vegetables to share with my neighbors. But this way, I’d skip the frustration of failed seed packs and the hours of research I don’t have time for. If I’m being honest, I never really wanted to become an expert in soil pH or germination rates. My time is better spent on the things that matter most: my family, my clients, and my community.

And here’s where this story might sound familiar to you.

Your business is where it is today because of your hard work, your willingness to learn, and your dedication. But let me ask you this: are your marketing efforts like my box of seeds? Planted, watered, and waiting… but taking too long to show results? Or maybe you’re in a place where you need quick wins and can’t afford to wait, hoping something will sprout in time for the harvest.

That’s where I come in. Let me be your Pike’s Nursery. I’d love to hear about your goals, what you’ve been working on, what’s thriving, and where you feel stuck. Together, we can figure out what adjustments will help you see the results you’ve been waiting for.

Like gardening, marketing is an art and a science. Some people love working in it. Some people just want the outcomes.
